B.A.S.I.C. UX
Building RoomBeats, the music control app for your home, was a straightforward yet impactful process rooted in basic UX principles. Here’s how we crafted it, step by step:
Understanding User Needs
We began by identifying what users wanted most: a simple, seamless way to control music across different rooms. We conducted user interviews and gathered insights to pinpoint key pain points, like ease of use, device integration and quick access to controls.
Defining Key Features
Based on our findings, we focused on essential features: music selection, volume control and room-specific sound management. The goal was to keep the app intuitive, so users could manage music in any room with minimal effort.
Wireframing & Layout Design
With basic wireframes in hand, we mapped out a clean, simple layout. The interface was designed for easy navigation, with large buttons and intuitive controls that made managing music in each room fast and enjoyable.
Prototyping & Feedback
A basic, functional prototype was created to test the core features. We invited a small group of users to interact with the prototype and gather feedback on usability. This allowed us to quickly refine the app’s flow and interactions.
Iteration & Refinement
Using the feedback, we made improvements, focusing on simplifying the interface and ensuring every action felt intuitive. With each iteration, the app became more polished and aligned with our users' needs.
RoomBeats was built with a basic UX approach that emphasizes simplicity and ease of use, ensuring that controlling music in your home is always a seamless experience.
